Fearless LA Podcast

Happy Sunday Fearless church!

This week, with the upcoming election, Pastor Jeremy addresses politics in the church. We are reminded that a donkey or an elephant did not suffer on the cross for us— only Jesus. He is the lion in the room, and more than anything, a divided world needs a United church.

Passionately pursue Jesus, above all else. The body of Christ is diverse because it gives us strength and shows glory to God. Believers have unity in Christ.

In John 13:34-35 Jesus gives us a new commandment. To love one another, as He loved us. By following this commandment, the world will know we are his disciples.

In this week's message, our Fearless leader, Jeremy Johnson, continues our series titled I Will Fear No Evil. Our Pastor presents Killshot Golgotha where we continue our journey with David to the battlefield to face Goliath. As he arose with faithfulness to his father's commands, an unprecedented destiny waited for him, unforeseen.

David was ready and willing to do the simple things that were asked of him. No one watched him as he grew in skill and ability. It was just another ordinary day when his dad requested for him to deliver cheese to his brothers. He completed his seemingly unimportant mission, not knowing destiny was about to unfold before him. Goliath arises and delivers the daily challenge to Israel, but no one was willing to face him. They were scared. David was ready, up to the challenge. He had faced lions alone with no one but the Lord at his side. He trusted God's ability to deliver him. He trusted the abilities God had built into him over time. He was not afraid to step up and seize this new opportunity.

It seems random that a shepherd boy with no warrior training would arise to this challenge. He was surrounded by trained warriors with custom built armor yet he was the right man for the job. David carried something the warriors did not, vision. He was able to see God with him in his day to day battles. He understood the power of God to deliver him and his ability to make him capable. He remembered all the things God had already done for him. David used it as a catalyst to drive him into battle. He arose to the challenge he was handcrafted to face. As God grows our abilities and new opportunities arise, we must be willing to pick up new challenges. God does not want us delivering cheese forever and hiding within the ranks of warriors. He is building us into something throughout the seemingly mundane, everyday moments. We have to keep our vision on all the good things He has done. We have to see things in a new light. This way when a new challenge is presented, we remember the God who has always been with us, will show up again. Join us for this heart stirring message. Are you ready for what God has next?

This week, pastor Jeremey Johnson revisits an old Sunday school favorite— the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17. As believers, it is important that we are able to distinguish between the problems in our life and the Goliaths in our life when we are in the valley of battle. The Goliath is the giant that appears day after day, taunting us. But fear not! Just like with David, God will come along side of us to take out the giants in our life. When we practice obedience, serve with passion and ask God for vision— He will give us the courage to defeat the giants in our life.

For it is vision that leads to courage, lack of vision leads to discouragement. God has the ability to give us new eyes to face our biggest struggles.

Jeremy Johnson, Senior Pastor of Fearless LA, brings "Don't Fear the Cheese" to our I Will Fear No Evil series. This week, we discuss the meaning of life when you're in the valley. Life is cyclical. While we all want to live from the mountaintop eventually everyone experiences a valley. It is inevitable. In this message, we review how small valley decisions impact our destiny.

David was living an obedient yet seemingly insignificant life. He watched over sheep while his brothers got to be in the house. His other brothers were off being warriors. He delivered cheese to his brothers simply because he was asked. Whether faced with a lion or asked to deliver cheese, he never shirked his responsibilities. This led him to a date with destiny. His humility in completing the seemingly insignificant opened the door for him to slay a giant and become a hero in the land.

When we say yes to Jesus, he doesn't promise us a lifetime of mountain tops.  When we are willing to participate in the small tasks in places we may not be seen or noticed God takes notice. He is using it to build a foundation that can catapult us into our destiny, if only we are willing. Join us for this week's life changing message to learn more about how God weaves our faithfulness to the little to bring forth a great destiny we can hardly imagine.
